Remotely piloted aircraft serve high-value tactical missions in Defense and Security and stand out for their mission versatility
In order to democratize access to technology, Xmobots' Flight Test team and Commercial sector are traveling around Brazil to present the Nauru 500C ISR to private and public security institutions. Recently, the team responsible for the demonstrations was in a strategic coastal region.

"We talk to the police, the armed forces and environmental agencies. This demonstration can also be called a proof of concept, where several flights are made to test the aircraft's capabilities and understand if it is in line with what the customer needs," says Pedro Morais, Xmobots' technical consultant.says Pedro Morais, technical consultant for Defense and Security at Xmobots.
Through direct contact with those interested in this technology, Xmobots is allowing the Nauru 500C ISR system to be seen in all its features by demonstrating a flight of the aircraft on site, which includes real-time patrolling with the Gimbal, providing RGB and thermal images.
This monitoring is done directly from the mobile base, also known as the Shelter, which facilitates the transportation of the system and the safety of the pilots.
"Today, the Nauru 500C ISR is already being used by various government agencies and even military organizations. It is gaining a lot of representation in the country. Why? We're taking human lives out of the field and deploying a remotely piloted aircraft. In other words, we're saving the life of an agent or a member of the military, and offering more security to citizens," says Morais.reinforces Morais.
The company representative goes on to emphasize the economic side of the business: "Today, you can, in some missions, replace a helicopter. We're not just talking about lives, but also public money. A squirrel helicopter, for example, consumes between five and 10 thousand reais per flight hour, while a fixed-wing drone like Nauru consumes less than 500 reais per flight hour"..
Versatility to meet multi-missions
The Nauru 500C ISR system is capable of carrying out a variety of missions, such as border patrols, monitoring public and private property, monitoring fires in vegetation and on highways, and inspecting ports and maritime areas.
The Brazilian Navy recently received the Nauru 500C ISR, which will be used in search and rescue operations on the high seas.
The aircraft is also used by the Management and Operational Center of the Amazon Protection System (Censipam), an agency of the Ministry of Defense, to combat illegal mining in the Yanomami Indigenous Land.

To attend a demonstration in a coastal region of Brazil, the team responsible for the presentation had to adapt to a more restricted scenario, as Xmobots' Class 1 RPA pilot Gerson Azinari reveals: "In this environment, which is a little more challenging, which are flights over the sea, we need to pay attention to the weather conditions. The winds in coastal areas are more challenging, so we need to be more cautious.".
"The Nauru, due to its size and capabilities, is closer to being an aircraft than a multirotor drone, so it automatically inherits some checklist procedures. And the demonstration serves to validate all the capabilities and show take-off and landing in challenging environments"added Gerson.
Disruptive technology
Xmobots, the 6th largest drone company in the world, is a benchmark in robotic engineering and artificial intelligence.
And the Nauru 500C ISR, a remotely piloted aircraft, is the answer from the company that is the absolute market leader in its segment in Latin America for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations.
Investment in the areas of defense and security is an essential step for any public body or private company to preserve its assets and guarantee the comfort and peace of mind of its employees during the working day.
With the first version launched in 2012, the Nauru 500C ISR soon established itself as a true "first place" collector.
This is because this drone, a 100% national technology, was the first RPA to fly over the Amazon, the first drone with Brazilian technology to receive an Experimental Flight Authorization Certificate (CAVE) from ANAC, the first Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) drone developed in Brazil, and the first drone and only drone in its category with ANAC certification for night operations up to 60km away.
What makes the Nauru 500C ISR the best system available on the market?
There are several features that make the Nauru 500C ISR a complete system for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations that break new ground. These include:
- Operation: automatic and manual control with a single operator;
- Autonomy: four hours of flight (combustion + battery);
- Flight ceiling: above 400ft (120 meters from the ground);
- Communication range: between 30km and 60km* on BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line-Of-Sight) flights;
- Speed: up to 90km/h;
- VTOL technology: vertical take-off and landing, and access to restricted areas;
- SIS132B gimbal: real-time image transmission (RGB + thermal);
- Advanced sensors: terrain and obstacle detection*.

Unprecedented authorization for night flights
The Nauru 500C ISR is authorized by ANAC to carry out missions at night. This unprecedented clearance from the regulatory agency therefore allows it to patrol at a time considered critical for criminal actions such as invasions, thefts and robberies.
"We are at the forefront of this certification, being the first company to obtain approval for this project. This shows our commitment to the market and to always being up to date with the main existing technologies. We will continue to expand the operational scope of our technologies for increasingly important missions"said founder and CEO Giovani Amianti at the time.
Your mission anywhere
The complete Nauru 500C ISR system can be purchased with a mobile base, a containerized ground control station(GSC) and even an adapted van.
In these options, Xmobots offers multifunctional 21.5" touchscreens, which display aircraft data, the mission map and sensor images for mission coordination.

For the operators' comfort, ergonomic armchairs are installed on the platform. The Nauru 500C ISR system also has a robust keyboard and trackball, and a joystick and stick for controlling the parameters sensed during the mission.
The mobile base, also known as a Shelter, can be towed by utility vehicles such as pick-up trucks, thus facilitating access to highways and dirt roads.
This structure has modern features such as digital access, air conditioning and an emergency electrical system.

Artificial Intelligence
The Nauru 500C ISR system also includes artificial intelligence, covert flight, and take-off and landing in hostile environments.
The onboard artificial intelligence is capable of recognizing vehicles and people both during the day and at night.
Secret flight
The success of any defense and security mission depends on good tactical planning and secrecy. With this in mind, Xmobots has developed a low visual detectability paint for the Nauru 500C ISR, as well as providing a low audibility propulsion system.
Take-off and landing in hostile environments
Because of its VTOL technology, the Nauru 500C ISR is highly versatile for accessing restricted areas that are difficult to reach, such as jungle regions, urban areas (cities and highways) and rivers, all of which are considered risk zones.
Powerful and robust, the Nauru 500C ISR is an extremely efficient aircraft for fulfilling a diverse range of missions.
