Trimble, a pioneer in precision agriculture, is now our partner
XMobots, Brazil's largest drone manufacturer, and Trimble, a world leader in the geotechnology sector, have sealed a partnership that promises to further promote the use of technology by agribusiness companies.
The new Trimble L1 L2 GPS on board XMobots aircraft now has a direct connection to Trimble AG GNSS bases, making it possible to directly connect XMobots' renowned HA (High Accuracy) technology to the Trimble bases already present in power plants and other companies in the sector.
GPS is one of the most critical points in a drone operation, and many devices, including fixed-wing drones, fly with positioning systems similar to those used in cell phones, with little precision and a high degree of degradation. "For a drone flight to be safe, it is very important that the GPS is robust. In this unprecedented partnership, they have developed software to be used especially with XMobots drones. As a result, our renowned on-board RTK technology is now called HAG, with a direct connection to the Trimble AG GNSS bases," explains XMobots' CEO, Giovani Amianti.
The partnership was announced first-hand by Trimble itself during UAVSI, one of the world's leading trade fairs for the sector, held at the end of April in Chicago, USA. The first devices to use this innovation are the Arator 5B and the Echar 20D, already available on the market.
