XMobots is carrying out its first operation in Africa. BDM Engenharia e Tecnologia, based in Angola, has acquired an Echar 20D HA with oblique cameras to expand its aerial mapping in the area of geotechnology. With a growing demand for mapping large areas, they saw the urgency of acquiring a drone that would meet the need for this type of work.
So, after a lot of research, they chose XMobots because of the high technology used in drones. And to optimize their work and time, they acquired the Echar. With it, they can map large areas without the need for control points, while maintaining positional accuracy of just a few centimeters.
One of the people responsible for the company's drone operations, Edevaldo Ramos, talked about the difficulty of mapping with other drones. "I mapped a 400-hectare area with a multi-rotor drone. Was I able to do it? Yes. But with a lot of difficulty. I had to make the support points and deploy them one by one. Today, we map using support points. Then we don't collect with the RTK. And that's a lot of work.
Regarding his expectations for Echar, he said that with the XMobots drone, work will be easier and more efficient. "With Echar, we'll be able to show customers that we can cover even larger areas with high accuracy, without having to collect control points."

The Echar 20D has established itself as one of Brazil's most reliable drones. Suitable for mapping medium and large areas, it features innovations that make its operation simpler, more versatile and more robust.
In addition to high-tech aeronautics, the Echar 20D uses avionics that are state-of-the-art in drone technology focused on BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) flights. It is currently the only drone in Brazil prepared for beyond visual line of sight flights. Its BVLOS certification process is currently underway at ANAC and is expected to be completed in 2018.
