The NAURU 500C drone from XMobots, the largest drone manufacturer in Brazil and Latin America, is the first 100% Brazilian drone connected to 5G technology for national agribusiness missions. The equipment was developed as part of an initiative by Ericsson and São Martinho S.A., one of the world's largest sugar-energy groups, in partnership with Vivo Empresas.

The first site selected for the implementation of 5G communication technology was at the São Martinho Mill in Pradópolis (SP). To avoid the construction of other transmission towers on the site, the Ericsson MINI-LINK Microwave solution was adopted, which allows interconnection via microwave to strategic remote areas and eliminates the risk of optical fiber being broken by a machine in the field.
The use of 5G technology allows the NAURU 500C to carry out high-precision mapping with video transmission and real-time control of the entire image capture process. With the high speed and low latency of 5G, the drone's on-board camera can perform live streaming in real time and with high definition images.

The technology used with 5G provides farmers with efficiency in their processes and operations. Among other benefits and advantages, drones will be even more precise in field challenges such as weed detection, intelligent pest control or locating and identifying fire outbreaks in sugarcane fields.
"Today, XMobots' drones make it possible to bring the best productivity to missions, whether agricultural or not, reducing the time taken for operations and analysis from days to a few hours. And with the availability of mobile network connectivity that XMobots' drones have, the productivity and efficiency offered will only increase," concludes Giovani Amianti, CEO of XMobots.
