Another great XMobots launch: MA Technology

Cutting-edge technology already in entry-level drones

For XMobots, a good product is one that generates a high level of profitability for its customers. With the best results in mind, XMobots launched MA (Medium Accuracy) Technology in August 2018, which is already included in the entry-level versions of its drones. The MA System comprises the MA on-board computer with RTK GPS + Glonass L1. This guarantees decimetric accuracy without control points in drone mapping.

It is compatible with the RTK technology on board most low-cost drones, which only use RTK GPS + Glonass on the L1 frequency. This technology is now present in the entry-level configuration of our equipment, at the best cost-benefit ratio on the market.

RTK/PPK L1 and RTK/PPK L1/L2

Currently, most drones sold on the market with RTK/PPK technology only operate on the L1 frequency. But in practice, do you know the difference between an L1 RTK/PPK Base (such as XMobots' MA technology) and an L1 and L2 RTK/PPK Base (such as XMobots' HA technology)?

To put it simply:

Drones with RTK/PPK L1 based on EMLID, UBlox, Pixhawk, among others, have a fragile accuracy of 2cm for baselines up to 1km. For baselines over 1km, there is robust decimetric accuracy for baselines up to 10km. This is why we say that MA technology has decimetric accuracy.

While drones with RTK/PPK L1 L2 based on Trimble, Topcom, Novatel and Hemiphere receivers, among others, have a robust accuracy of 2cm for baselines of up to 20km. That's why we call HA technology centimeter accurate.
