Last week, a team of professors and researchers from the Federal Institute of Goiás (IFG) finished training to operate the Arator 5A and Echar 20C HA drones. The Institute's aim is to use the XMobots drones for academic research in partnership with the Federal University of Goiás and the State University of Goiás.
According to João Cortes, the professor who led the process of acquiring the equipment, research with the UAVs will be carried out in the areas of precision agriculture, seed dispersal and vegetation filters.
In addition to practical applications in the field, which involves the complete operation of the drones, the students from the Federal Institute of Goiás will also be taught how to plan missions using the XPlanner software, developed by XMobots, and how to process the images captured by the drones. Both the Arator 5A and the Echar 20C HA will be put into operation by the IFG this semester.
