Yesterday (28/03/2023), ANAC (the National Civil Aviation Agency) decided, at a Deliberative Meeting of the Collegiate Board, by a majority vote, to make the regulations for the use of RPAS in agricultural activities more flexible and simpler.
Although with some requirements (aimed at maintaining the safety of operations), as of the publication in the DOU, spraying drones, regardless of their weight, will be able to operate without the need for RETA insurance and project authorization, provided that the visual flight conditions (VLOS/EVLOS) are respected and that operations remain below 400ft AGL, in uninhabited areas.
Despite this regulatory simplification, it is worth emphasizing the need to comply with the rules and requirements established by the other bodies involved, such as ANATEL, DECEA and MAPA.
This is excellent news for the Brazilian agricultural sector which, with the increasing adoption of aerial drone technology, is gaining greater strength to guarantee and bring better results to an entire production chain in the country.
