UFMT usa drone ECHAR para realização de diagnóstico ambiental

The Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT) already has an important ally in teaching and research activities focused on the environment. The institution, through a partnership with the State Public Ministry, acquired an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), also known as drone, for the environmental diagnosis of degraded areas. The equipment is a Echar 20B, an aircraft developed by the company XMobots and authorized to fly by the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC).

According to the UFMT assistant professor, André Marcondes Andrade Toledo, the VANT will be used in the courses of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering (UFMT Campus Rondonópolis). The images processed by the aircraft will aid in the diagnosis of degraded areas, as well as assist in the mapping of permanent preservation areas (APPs).

“There is also the possibility, in the near future, of the VANT to assist the administrative activities of the university, as far as the image of the airs of the three campuses of the institution”, explains the professor.

Currently, Toledo and Professor Normandes Matos da Silva have already held the first inaugural flights, which marked the beginning of activities with the UAV.
